Baby Genius ???

So we may just potentially have a mini baby genius on our hands. Sophia is so cognitively advanced for her age it just blows our minds to see the things that she does. She's only 17 months and is already hitting milestones for a 30- 36 month old. She just seems to have this natural ability to remember things and has a love of books. She's even already memorized most of the titles, words, pictures & pages in all her books. And she has a lot of books! Lately she's had an interest in colors and can identify BLUE, GREEN, YELLOW, RED (sometimes), ORANGE, & PINK --this milestone usually hits at age 3. Her language has just exploded and she tells us exactly what she wants and doesn't want. So far she can say parts of the alphabet, counts to 20, knows 20 states on a U.S. map and can name about 10 of them, she's learned some shapes (circle, oval, triangle, square, octogon, clover, star, heart, diamond). Really amazing....she just amazes us daily. Because she's so advanced, Sascha & I sometimes forget that she is still a baby. Sascha talked to one of his peers and she seems to be far advanced for her age. BABY Nerd! Anyway, we'll just have to see where this goes. I found the quote below quite amusing:
